“My work is reminiscent of when I was a kid growing up in Lambertville, NJ.  I loved being outside in nature. I would lie in the grass over at Lewis’ Island, close my eyes and look into the sun. Then open them to see a world of bright colors, exaggerated textures, shapes and forms. The river would glisten and the water would dance. It created an abstract world of color and light. It was wonderful and uplifting”.

“Photography has always been built into my way of seeing things. I am always taking that picture with my mind’s eye. Recording that split second in time when everything seems to all fall into place and dissolve into an altered state of reality.

My current work is an enhancement of that goal, and a concentrated commitment to narrow the focus by intensifying color and textures, accentuating contrast and saturation, and printing them on a large scale to immerse the viewer into the scene. Humbling them to nature’s beauty and attempting to create a greater bond.

Over the years, I have formed a mutual respect with my camera and the natural world. My goal is for it to act as the quintessential eye, helping to capture the world’s “life force” beyond what is obviously seen - an alter environment. Merging the abstract and natural worlds. Seeing the world through an erudite and trained eye.

I developed a large body of work which I had thought about for many years, as an Artist-in-Residence at Lafayette College’s Media Lab, in Easton, PA, with Lew Minter, from May 2007- Dec. 2010. It set into motion being able to print my images on a very large scale on artist’s paper and canvas, which I continue with today”.
